Aluminum machining part is very popular nowadays.
Many precision machining parts are made of aluminum alloy, i.e. AISI 6061, AISI 7075, AISI 5052, AISI 6082, etc.
Aluminum machining parts are used in different industries, such as bicycle, automobile, aviation, marine, medical, etc.
This is an article to introduce the procedure from design to produce the CNC machined billet aluminum parts in a new bicycle system.
If you ride a bicycle, you will always ride on the only posture as all the current bicycles only have one handlebar position.
It’s not comfortable, you will get very tired and back, shoulder or neck pain after you have a long ride.
My goal is to make riding a more comfortable experience for people that experience back, shoulder, or neck pain while riding.
It’s very necessary to develop a new handlebar position adjust system with aluminum machining parts, which includes the aerodynamic position, the neutral position, and the comfort position.
It can remove your nervous and tired.
Meanwhile, you will ride a longer time and further away.
When battling a headwind or trying to keep up with the “fast crowd”, putting the system down low in the aerodynamic position.
The most ride position is neutral.
When the back and shoulders begin to ache from a long ride, putting the system in the up position to comfort.
This shifts your weight and relieves fatigued muscles.
The handlebar position adjust system consists of 7 aluminum machining parts, which are Cylinder Clamp, Frt Fitting, Hbarclamp, Linkage, Rear Fitting, Release Head, and Rhead lever.
They are designed by Autocad and simulation tests on Pro-E.
For reference as bellow
We will choose 1000T and 0.2 flow rate cold drew machine to make 3m bar and cut 300mm of each end off in order to avoid any impurity element in the bar.
Put the 3m bar into the water to cooling.
After 15 minutes, put the bar in 212 Fahrenheit degree aging oven for 12 hours.
Then put the bar on the ground, and wind cooling for 24 hours. At the end, we will get the correct hardness and pure aluminum 6061.
After 24 hours, test the size, concentricity, and the tolerance of the square bar, the tolerance range is +/-0.1mm.
If all are correct, we will test chemical components by spectrograph to check if all the chemical components are the same as the aluminum 6061’s prototype.
When everything is right, put the bar in paper bag in order to avoid scratch or dents during transit.
The model number of raw material cutting machine, which we choose, is 350.
First, cut 10mm off in order to have a flat surface, second, put the bar on the machine and aligning the flat surface to “0” position of the machine.
Cut the bar into a 57mm rod of each.
Lay the 57mm rods in a plastic transit container one by one, each plastic transit container lay a one floor, pay an attention, don’t lay 2 floors.
Blow the aluminum scraps away by air gun and keep the container as clean as possible.
Put the process flow card on the container, write the model number, size, time, quantity, order number on the card, the inspector sign his name on the card too after checking if they are correct.
Transit all the container to a specified blank area.
Put the blank on 4 axis CNC milling machines, the model number TM540.
Use the forth axis to clamp 10mm position of the blank, then set up parameters.
install 5mm drill, adjust the rotate speed to 8000rmp, set feed to 100 double, install a 10mm aluminum specialized blade, adjust the rotate speed to 8000rmp, set feed to 300.
After above machining operations, the rough shape of the part is finished.
Change to the 2mm facing cutter, install 2mm aluminum specialized blade, adjust the rotate speed to 5000rmp, set feed to 50.
After advanced machining finished, blow the aluminum scraps away, put the ready part in the plastic transit container again.
After inspection, put the parts in the ultrasonic cleaner tank, ultrasonic clean each part with environmental cleanout fluid.
Move the cleaning finished parts to 212 fahrenheit degree dryer for 2 hours, then wind cooling.
According to package instruction, put each part in one opp bag, lay on the carton box, each floor is isolated by carton board.
The limited loading weight is 10kg, i.e. 100pcs of each carton.
Put the mark on the carton box, put all the carton boxes on wooded pallet with pallet mark.
